Recycling Oceania welcomes enquiries from waste operators, councils, engineers, researchers and organisations interested in exploring Subcritical Water (SCW) processing technology.
Our approach is straightforward. We encourage interested parties to examine the commercial operating experience in Japan, understand the technology and independently evaluate its suitability for their particular waste streams. Whether you are considering municipal waste, sewage sludge, treated timber, plastics or other difficult-to-process materials, we would be pleased to discuss the possibilities and help identify an appropriate pathway for technical and commercial evaluation.

Recycling Oceania assists interested organisations in exploring opportunities to visit commercial Subcritical Water processing facilities in Japan. Seeing the equipment firsthand provides a valuable opportunity to understand the process, discuss operating experience and ask practical questions about its application.
With more than 35 years of experience working between Japan and New Zealand, Recycling Oceania can also provide Japanese–English interpretation and technical communication support, helping visitors engage directly with the technology developer and facility operators.
Visits would be arranged in consultation with the Japanese technology developer and relevant facility operators, subject to availability and permission.

Recycling Oceania is built on the experience and international relationships developed through Japanese Solutions Ltd, established in 2001 by Rod and Makiko Hellyer. With decades of involvement in Japanese industry, technical translation and international business development, their work has increasingly focused on identifying practical Japanese technologies that could help address New Zealand’s environmental and industrial challenges. This experience led to the establishment of Recycling Oceania and its work introducing Subcritical Water processing technology to New Zealand.
